Seinfeld is Master of More Than its Domain

I have been a Seinfeld fan for years. I am one of those guys that quotes a Seinfeld line whenever it is appropriate and often when it is not.
I got a book for Christmas SEINFELD, MASTER OF ITS DOMAIN edited by David Lavery and Sara Lewis Dunne. Now these guys are genuine Seinfeld freaks. This book is a collection of essays about the show. It is well worth the cost if you like Seinfeld. The authors talk about the social implications of the show, the types and shadows of Seinfeld as well as tons of other factoids and concepts that the show deals with.
The bottom line is that Seinfeld is just a comedy show but it is so well written that a book written about a show about nothing is well worth the read!

And Blagojevich Plays Race Card

Well, Governor Blagojevich is nothing if not ballsy and politically shrewd enough to really drag this thing out that he has gotten himself into and all of us by association. For those of you that are not up on current political thievery-Gov. Blagojevich is the embattled Illinois Governor who is on his way to indictment for offering the now vacated senate seat of President elect Barry to the highest bidder. Lots of this is on tape too so we can all hear it!
The Governor who seems to be a sociopath knew that any person he nominated to take the senate seat would be refused by most politicians and most assuredly by the Senate. So what is a crooked Governor to do? Play the race card! Blagojevich knew that if he picked an African American to fill the senate seat that Barry held he would enjoy some built in support. The likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will soon be on TV supporting Roland Burris. Mr. Burris is a 71 year old politician from Illinois who served as Illinois Attorney General in the past. He seems to have a scandal free past. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_Burris
I don't have anything against Mr. Burris. I just enjoy watching the political game. I am curious to see how the powers that be will respond to this nomination.

A Plea for Sanity

As the year comes to a close and government at all levels think of new ways to balance their budgets there are a slew of new tax proposals that are outrageous. I hope to God that before people vote for these tax proposals or just allow them to be put into law that they think long and hard.
Consider these facts:
1. "Temporary" taxes never ever go away!
2. Many times taxes are really no more than a very poorly disguised attempt at social engineering.
3. Always remember the same people that you see on CSPAN are the folks deciding how this money is spent.
4. Add up your income tax, local tax, state tax and the many other hidden taxes you pay...isn't that enough?

This is Why I Dont Work for Newsweek

I am already falling behind in my daily writing.

I will catch up and for all of the thousands of people out there that are used to beginning your day with a cup of cofee, the Journal and BOSMOS just hang in there...I am coming!

The Story

Luke 2:8-20 (New International Version)
The Shepherds and the Angels 8And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ[a] the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
13Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
15When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."
16So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Father, God is on Line One

The Vatican rocks or at least has an iPhone. We know the pope sent texts to thousands of youth in 2006 in Australia. Now the Vatican has approved the book of daily prayers in an electronic version. Designed by a hip Italian priest who plans on donating the profits to charity. That is awesome...thats all I gotta say about that.

That Pope is one cool dude!

Are Liberals Stingy and Heartless?

One of the coolest thing about having a blog is being able to point out good and bad issues that other folks who are much smarter than I come up with.

I have already shared that I am a political half breed. My conservative friends think that I am a socialist and my liberal friends swear that I literally worship low taxes and Ronald Reagan. The truth is that I consider my self a Libertarian.

I didn't discover this article myself but heard about it on Rush Limbaugh. Rush is often a blowhard but he is the funniest and most insightful blowhard I have ever listened to.

This article by Nicholas Kristof shows that overall conservatives give more money personally than liberals. I find this very funny because all the main stream media talks about is how cold hearted and stingy conservatives are. In addition to that Mr. Kristof is as liberal as they come by his own admission. I have included the link below to the NY TIMES article. I hope you find it interesting.

New York Soda Party-You are Invited!

The Governor of New York, David Paterson needs to powder his wig.
He has proposed a 15% tax on all NON diet soda. Nope, not joking. New York state is facing a multi billion dollar deficit. In order to put more money in the states wallet, an estimated $404 million annually, the Gov. has put forth this brilliant idea.
This is so insane it is hard to actually argue against it logically because it is so crazy. It is also UNAMERICAN. Yes, it is! I know that sounds harsh but it is true. If the people of New York allow this bill to pass they deserve all of the abuse that a liberal state government can dish out at them. People in every other state will lose freedom also. Perhaps, the future senator Kennedy can step in and bring some sanity to this issue. After all I am sure she is opposed to the new tax.
Consider how much freedom we are allowing to be stolen from us...it scares me. Does it make sense that you can have an abortion in New York and if you have no money the state will pay for it with tax money...possibly the extra 15% someone from Queens pays for their Coke or Pepsi. At the same time a terminally ill patient doesn't have the right to end their own life or treat their pain with anything other than what the government approves? This is not an argument for or against abortion, euthanasia or medical marijuana. It is an argument for sanity.
Will someone rise up, start throwing Coke Classic into the harbor and then look the Governor square in the face and say "DON'T TREAD ON ME!"?
Ps-I hope SNL doesn't make fun of this proposal the governor might whine.

Rick Warren is a Fat Pastor!

Rick Warren? I wanted to write this long and well thought out post about how crazy it is for the very liberal folks in America to be freaking out about how poor of choice he is to pray at the inaugural but I decided I am too lazy.

People may not agree with Rick Warren on many issues but to call him a hate monger and compare him to Hitler is just freaking nuts.

Hey dummies "He is a baptist pastor!"

Good for you Rick!

Barry you have balls sir!

Barry And His Super Fly Hat

Taken while a student at Occidental College in Los Angeles in 1980 Barry sports his super fly hat. If you couldn't tell Barry has said that "Yes" he did inhale. Also notice that even back then Barry was ahead of the times. He had one of those magnetic bracelets that you can get only on TV way back then almost thirty years ago.

Experienced Women Wanted

I can see it now. Kennedy will more than likely be chosen by the governor of New york to replace Hillary Clinton and fill her vacant senate seat. By the way that is a big seat to fill-if you know what I mean.

Let me say right off here that Kennedy is qualified by the letter of the law. The governor is free to pick any person he wishes as long as they fulfill the constitutional requirements of the senate office. But lets be honest Kennedy has one qualification and that is her name.

Palin also had one qualification: her looks (that is why she was picked to run with Mc Cain) BUT at least she was an elected official.

My point is two fold. First it is sad that we lack more truly qualified people to run this country. And secondly I cant wait to hear how liberal pundits support Kennedy by way of her experience when they spent months yelling at us about the ill prepared Palin.

I cannot wait to see what happens...it will be good for the watching.

I don't know why Kennedy just doesn't write the Governor of NY a check...that is how it is done right?

Homework Still Sucks

This will be short and to the point: I would like to torture all Kindergarten teaachers who assign five year old people home work...get a life.

Not Native Americans I said The Chiefs

For those of you who are lucky enough to count yourself a Kansas City Chiefs fan we may have something to hope for!

I have lived in two of the best sports town in the United States. Kansas City and Columbus, Ohio. Very few cities anywhere are as wild for their teams as KC is for their Chiefs and Columbus is for their Buckeyes. Maybe just maybe the plaza can look foreword to being packed again with Chiefs fans of all ages...Chiefs fans can now throw away their Mizzou sweatshirts.

The Chiefs began as an original AFL team and were known as the Dallas Texans. They have three AFL championships to their credit as well as one Super Bowl victory in the fourth edition of the classic. It was that victory over the Vikings that last saw the Chiefs in a Super Bowl.

Gone are the days of Neil Smith, Derrick Thomas, Marcus Allen. even Priest Holmes and Larry "overpaid" Johnson. Now the days of Carl Peterson are over and if we are lucky Herm Edwards will take his last flight out of KCI soon. I like both men. Edwards is a proven better than average coach who carries himself as a professional. Other than the Chiefs lousy record he has never done anything to bring harm to the tradition of the Chiefs. I may say that the record is enough however. Carl Peterson has figured out like the rest of us that it is just time to go. He had a great run...much longer than most.

Mr. Hunt please do whatever you have to do to bring a title back to KC. We are waiting patiently but bro it has been along time!

We Should Give Barry a Chance Part 1

President Elect Barack O Bama deserves our support. I know many of you feel like vomiting when you read a statement like that. The President elect who I like to refer to as Barry will be our leader for at least four years. He won the election more than fair and square in many ways it was a thourough butt whippin. It is no secret that I lean Libertarian in most of my views. I find that my republican friends think I am too liberal and my liberal friends think I am way too conservative. I dont think it should matter what political persuaision you are as far as support for the President is concerned. I am not taking away our right to complain or disagree even loudly against the President. What I am talking about could possibly be described as good will toward Barry if the word support bothers you.

Why We Should Support Barry

1. He was elected by the process that the constitution provides. With all of our worst fears about voter intimidation and severe systemic problems with the mechanics of voting day behind us we can say without a doubt that Barry was the choice of the people to succeed President Bush.

2. He is after all black...or at least half black. Ok, African-American. This is a big deal for not only black Americans but for all Americans. I am really happy that a black president has been elected. This country provides opportunity to everyone in a manner that no other country on earth does. This fact is great proof of that.

Please Enter This Century

How can a business or church or any entity that cares about people either joining their cause or doing business with them not have a web site or even an answering machine? Recently I was trying to contact a local business and thier web site hadnt been updated since Christ was a corporal. I then called the phone number and thier was not even an answering machine. I dont understand how that is so. It befuddles me. It sends the message that they dont care.

Too bad I just threw away my lighter fluid or I would have sent a smoke signal.

Get voice mail or please just jump to the chase and apply for a government bail out becasue you wont be in business long.

Welcome
