Being Thankful Even When Things Are Crazy

As we approach Thanksgiving I need to remind myself that there are so many things to be thankful for.
I hope you find time to count the blessings in your life and thank God for them.
Thanks to my family and friends for putting up with me.
If you are traveling be safe! Remember our women and men in uniform, remember the poor, remember the ones who are ill...be thankful!
Thank you God for the blessings you have given me, my family and my country.
Oh, if you eat too much turkey you still have a few years to be able to squeeze into the ER before the Barry Health Care plan is enacted. If you have money left over after taxes you can even pay the bill.

Health Care Bill WILL Hurt America and Dems

I must apologize for being so timid about the health care bill that will have a cloture vote tonight. I always want to be fair and have held my tongue because I didn't want to be mistaken for a republican stooge. By the way I am anything but a republican stooge. I am a conservative and only a registered republican. Well, I don't care who I offend. This issue is VERY serious. First of all those rat bastards and I mean all of them regardless of party affiliation should be punished for outright dishonesty and if not dishonesty than most assuredly for stupidity. Just the fact that they are doing this under the cover of darkness should tip you off that all is not well.
In all of the most recent polls this health care bill is only a couple more points more popular than Hillary care was. Hillary care was radioactive to say the least. Congress and President Barry don't care what their bosses think. We are their bosses. The Democrats in the most optimistic polls have 3 out of ten people that support this bill in its current form-but they are gonna do all they can to jam a cloture vote through on a Saturday night. By the way we have to start paying for this bill as soon as it passes-funny thing is that the benefits of the bill (if you want to call them benefits) wont start for three years.
This bill is so expensive that it is insane and hard to believe. Of course it may be hard to get an exact cost because not many people have read the whole bill.
The health care system in America is not perfect but it is the best system in the world. The free market is the only system that works. Why don't we pass a sensible bill that fixes the exclusion for pre existing conditions? There is nothing wrong with passing common sense legislation that brings more people coverage. But we cannot throw many millions of people into an already overburdened system and not expect problems. I am no genius but obviously prices will go up and care will suffer.
We must stand up and tell those guys in DC that if they vote for this that we will make sure they are never elected to any office again. This bill just doesn't make sense. Talk about throwing the baby out with bath water...
The government ALWAYS underestimates costs...always. Lets use our heads instead of being lured into passivity by spurious claims of this bill being compassionate. It is not compassionate it is stupid. Compassion is fighting for a bill that wont break our country and doing what we can personally to help. When was the last time you offered to help a friend with their bills? Compassion comes from people not the government in almost every case. Big government does not fix problems it makes it worse.
In addition to all of the above the congress and Barry out to make jobs and the economy the number one priority (after national security) not a health care bill that only 30% of registered voters are in favor of.
And yes if this does pass democrats will pay a huge price at the ballot box in 2010.
If you are for this bill rest easy because Harry Reid is leading the way and thought ought to comfort you!

Oops Wrong Picture

Sorry wrong terrorist in previous post

And You thought Bill Belichick Made A Crazy Call?

After watching Bill Belichick decide to go for it on 4th down last night and subsequently loosing to the Colts I thought I had witnessed the dumbest decision that a human could make in quite a while. However, his decision really harmed no one. I am afraid that the decision to send Khalid Sheikh Mohammed to NYC to stand trial may.

This decision is so insane it borders on reckless. I suppose the only up side that may possibly come of this is that after hearing testimony from the killer himself how he planned and executed the murderous attack on 9/11 the few folks who still claim that this was a conspiracy hatched by the American government or the Jews will now have to argue with KSM.

I have no problem with KSM being tried before we hang him-of course that is if he is found guilty. I have no fear of him not being convicted. I do fear that this trial of KSM and four other co-conspirators in NYC is a security risk not only to the people of NYC but may also turn into an event that does nothing other than give this animal and his cause a lot of press-which by the way is EXACTLY what he wants.

He needs to be tried by the military. Being tried by the military is not as fair as a Federal trial. However, a military tribunal is the only proper place that an enemy combatant should be tried. There are many reasons for that. Not the least of which is the protection of key witnesses and intelligence gathering techniques. KSM gave up any right he had to being treated like a "normal" criminal when he decided to take up arms against the United States.

I would also say that because he is being tried in Federal court he MUST be afforded the exact same rights that any person in the justice system is afforded. If we don't treat him EXACTLY the same we are making our own justice system look like a kangaroo court. I am the first to admit that I don't like the idea of military tribunals. The UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) is a blunt instrument. But, only people who meet certain qualifications can be tried in this system-ya know like the types of people that attack two skyscrapers as well as the Pentagon and if the folks on United 93 didn't act heroically there would have been another building destroyed as well. It is for those reasons that my heart isn't broken about seeing KSM being tried by the military. For God's sake this guy is as much of an enemy of the state as can possibly exist.

It must be noted too that by treating KSM "justly" will not cause the US to be thought of as any different by our enemies. They already hate us. They hate you whether you read the Huffington Post or are a Republican lap dog-they could care less. They hate us because we are Americans and no reasoning with them will ever change that fact.

I also think drawing a pool of civilian residents of NYC may actually place some of their lives in danger. This is a serious decision with many possible implications. It looks like the decision has been made but it is a poor one.

Republican, Democrat or Freedom or Crazy Bald Man

Ok thousands of people write the BOSMOS headquarters and ask me what political party I am part of. I just spoke with a lady who said that I was " a moving target..." I hear that my views are not cogent or consistent. I would submit they are VERY consistent and that is what bothers people. I try not to think in terms of party platforms but on the basis of what I believe is the best for our nation. I am called a bleeding heart liberal and war mongering conservative very frequently. Truth be told I am a registered republican.

This is the deal. The issues today are not the the actual issues facing this country. Healthcare reform, taxes, gambling, gun control, medical marijuana, private property rights, etc are just side issues. I am not an anarchist at all. But if something doesn't directly violate the rights (not desires) of others I believe that you should be free to participate in that activity. The main issue facing this nation is the loss of freedom that we are experiencing. This country is great for many reasons but the main one is that we are free. Free to speak, free to love, free to hate, free to make money, free to give money away, free to worship the God of our choice or no God at all. It is all about freedom. It is freedom after all that leads to wealth, peace, morality and more freedom.

We must be careful in our collective to desire to "do the right thing" that we don't take from ourselves the freedom that so many have sacrificed for.

Lets please focus on freedom rather than issues.

Libertarian?

Maybe the Libs will get some traction...
Seems to me that conservative minded people would do well to look for some fresh dynamic leaders that are actual conservatives and even winsome and possibly younger than 60.

Its A Festivus Miracle

Now to something serious...Festivus

Our first Stop will be http://www.festivuspoles.com/ At this site you can buy many different types of poles as well as assorted paraphernalia.

We owe it to ourselves to celebrate properly this year.

And the Winner Is...

OK well the people have spoken. Thank you to all of those who voted yesterday or via mail in ballot. For those of you that didn't vote you are banned from complaining about anything that your vote could have changed (yes, this trumps the first amendment-I asked the Constitution Czar)
Issue 1-Bonuses for Vets. This issue passed. According to the Dispatch it may take more than a year for the troops to get their checks. Why doesn't it take that long for the state to send you a bill?
Issue 2-Livestock Care Board. This issue passed. This sailed through with almost 65% of the vote.
Issue 3-Casinos in Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati and Toledo. This issue passed. This issue passed quite easily although it was defeated in Franklin County. Estimates are that construction will begin in 2010 with wagering by 2012. I cant wait to visit one of these places.
Heath and Chillicothe residents vote to limit red light "spy" cameras. The scary thing is that these votes were actually close.
School Tax Issues-Southwestern passed, Westerville passed, Worthington passed, Reynoldsburg did NOT pass.

President Barry is Not Having A Good day

I plan on updating the blog vis-a-vis our local Ohio issues but I have to say that no matter what kind of jive you hear on the state controlled media today the President is not in a good mood today. The results of the elections in New Jersey and Virginia are a slap in the face to the Barry administration-dont let them sell you on the idea that the administration doesnt really care.

I also must say this is not rare. Presidents come up on the sad side of off year elections frequently. Hang in there Barry-there is always next year!

The Waiting Is The Hardest Part

Ever since the debacle of 2000 Election Day just isn't as exciting because all of the services are so much more tight lipped on projections!
